  • How to adapt with it in our lives through a healthy way.
WHAT IS AUGMENTED REALITY?
An augmented reality in layman's terms are computer graphics that implements itself into the real world (our reality). Cell phones and videos games in this case are slowly integrating in our lives for its main purpose to enhance our human senses. The internet is a major resource for humanity and it is not a surprise to use the internet's graphics that we see on a computer, television, billboard or cell phone to make our individual lives more comfortable, faster, and reliable.

WHERE DID THE IDEA BEGIN?
The idea of augmented reality technologies was brought up by Morton Heilig. He is a scientist known for his deep research on experimenting with technologies in the 1960’s. He used his own inventions to have individuals participate in an experiment for its goal to have the participate be confused with what's real and what's not and if it could be beneficial. The experiment was to have the participant put on certain "goggles" to distort sight by seeing it through a different way while watching a film. It has become successful and in this idea, it has become an eternal snow ball progressively getting bigger as it rolls down a mountain of evolutionary progress by updating the idea of augmented technology every decade.

HOW WILL IT SHAPE OUR FUTURE?
The future is inevitable when it comes to augmented reality becoming a part of human lives. Any technology that becomes free to the public is always better than the last so eventually we will reach a point in time where graphics in a computer will only benefit us in our real lives. As we communicate, receive information, complete our work duties or self interests. It's all done through the internet and as time goes on, humanity will become more reliant to it and the more we become more reliant, more ideas will increase to make technology that much better than ever before.

NEGATIVES:
Everything must come to use through moderation. Anything that we use can be abused if we incorporate it too much or too little according to technology for this subject. As long as augmented realities purpose is to further human evolution and endeavor to it's beneficial potential, than there is no reason why there would be a negative in this aspect. Although, this can perhaps transform our social skills of face to face contact in a negative way. Culture will have a 180 degree angle in the future comparing it to the now. Communication and everyday skills will be used through technology only having it speak for us rather than verbally commune yourself. We can definitely become a slave to our own technology if we choose to be.

Furthermore, this technology can have a substantial impact on our feelings towards knowledge. When something becomes numbingly easy to obtain or access it tends to be taken for granted by the general population. If a rising generation feels that all they need is their mobile device to give them all the knowledge and information they need then what will their perception of education be? How much will they value it? Creating a reliance on a technology can possibly result in a loss of skills and critical thinking abilities..

POSITIVES:
There are occupations in the world where it can become vigorous work in the usual 8 hour work day. Inventions will be made in our future where the harder jobs will be taken over through an easier process. Technology is substituting the hands of individuals in harsher job environments and making it easier on them. This will reduce exhaustion, injury and work time to go by quicker. It relieves the stress off the employees in the harsh work force where the physical body is challenged like construction, collecting and cleaning. The only thing that we cannot allow is to have our own technology empower us.
CONCLUSION:
Augmented reality technology will be suitable and accepting in our near future. Already humanity is dependent on this idea. The path that this leads to is simply a society that includes computer graphics to assist with individual goals. As this continues, this will become apart of us and without it would be devastating while putting us at a halting stop. Personally this won't be the case since education and research is being invested everyday, we will find ways by good decision making and trail and error to make augmented technology apart of our reality in the most healthiest way possible.
AUGMENTED REALITY TV SERIES:
Another possible glimpse into what the future holds for this subject has opened in the world of television, the Netflix series "Black Mirror" offers what the show classifies and the future of human interaction and what reality could look like. It plays on the ability for us to interact with each other using the idea of a virtual rating system that also classifies out social status. Using Retina implants to recognize individuals around us, view their personal rating and through the level of their interaction offer a rating. These ratings add to the profile visibility of each person. Its futuristic but in a very odd way could offer something of a glimpse into what actually can become a form of augmented reality. Using information from a central database that is constantly updating through additional human interactions, being transmitted to a Retina display. The characters experience a visual signal and based on that show the interaction and how to approach that person based on their rating.

This is another technology that we might be accepting in the future world. In many ways were on the path to this type of interface. We have for example the ability to rate an Uber and Lyft driver and they have the ability to rate you. As soon as a pickup is requested you see the rating and right away can make an assessment of how the interaction could be. The TV series has the exact same idea for transportation. When a taxi is called your rating system plays into the level of services and type of car you can take. I could see Lyft and Uber using this rating in the future when they decide to offer their users the Uber Elite type car service. One which reviews your rating to see if you are eligible for a high end car to pick you up or just an ordinary car.

Yes while this is only a Netflix TV series it can leave you with a very uneasy feeling of where we might be headed, I feel it offers the same level of uncertainty that augmented reality does. The ability to use technology to change the way we view our interactions, surrounds and acquaintances is a likely not so futuristic concept.
