"The Most Important Social Media Company You've Never Heard Of" How It Was Created
Banjo was created by the intelligent Damien Patton, who wanted people to be able to figure out what's going on around the world almost instantly. When being asked how Damien came up with the brilliant idea to start up the app, Banjo, he mentions a time when he was leaving Las Vegas and by the time he finally got home and checked Facebook, he noticed how one of his very good friends was at the exact same airport at the same time and he was frustrated because he doesn't get the opportunity to see this friend very often. Because of his frustration with the situation, he immediately went home and started coding.

Creator and CEO Damien Patton
Patton was born and raised in Los Angeles, he lives with his mother and father till he was the age of 15. He decided not to attend high school and live a life on the streets. Patton stated in an interview to inc.com "I lived in the underpass on a freeway, squatted in old, abandoned buildings in Hollywood". At the age of 18 he moved to Hawaii to live with his father (his parents divorced when he was 5 years old). It was not long after that he decided to serve in Iraq for the US Navy, he said "I remember sitting at home with my dad and watching the tracer fire on CNN. And I was like, 'That's intense. I need to go.'" After two tours with the Navy and moving up in rank he became uninterested. He then found and persuaded a new passion, NASCAR. "The minute I saw the guy jump over the wall of the pit with a jack in his hand, I said, 'That's me.'" He eventually worked his was up to chief mechanic and a spot on Lowe's racing team. He attended the University of North Carolina in Greensboro which lead to him getting his degree in less than 3 years. He quickly jumped into the interest of forensics. He eventually started to train police officers about crime scene investigating.

Damien Patton completes what he sets his mind to. In less the 74 hours Banjo was created, he is now CEO of what will become shortly, one of the best social media apps created.
What is Banjo?
According to Inc. Magazine, "Banjo does something that no one has managed to do until now, at least not in such an elegant, intuitive fashion: It imposes order on the vast chaotic cloud of social media and unlocks its power in ways we haven't yet seen." Damien Patton himself also best describes banjo as a "connection engine" according to laptopmag.com, he mentions how the main purpose behind this app was to better connect us to things that are nearby and important to us. He talks about how inconvenient it can be to have to actively search out things around us, so he wanted to create an app that would know what things are of interest to us and it would inform us of those events. He also discusses how Banjo can look back in time and see different events that we have previously attended to better understand what might intrigue us. I would definitely say that this app could be appropriate and fitting for people from ages 13-60+, the reason being, because it's an app that can adapt to you and what sort of things personally interest you. Who is The Target Audience?
The target audience would be any person that is interested in not having to filter through all the news to find exactly what they are looking for. This would be all news stations as well. They would be able to access the app and have instant access to major happenings around the world. One example is when the shootings were happening in Florida at the college. There was a surge in online activity at the time and the Banjo software was able to tap into that and see what was happening and let the closest news team have the information so they could begin reporting on it. Why Is "Banjo" Beneficial?
Banjo is beneficial because it's allowing us a convenient way to figure out what's going on around us instead of sitting around and wondering and trying to research different events or things going on. According to inc.com Banjo is a "global, distributed, resilient, hyperlocal, low-cost, information-gathering and disseminating system", the benefit is its cheap, its quick and you can get information without having to filter through all the garbage put on the web or the news. You get straight information right from the source, right when it is happening. This is the brain power behind the software of Banjo. It taps into surges of activitiy and will begin to feed the information to the public. THey have become a hot commodity with the news stations and have offered their services for a price to them so that they can be the first ones notified when events are happening. Where you find a major event worth viewing, there are millions of people behind it with smart devices to capture what is going on, all from different perspectives, which in itself is a benefit. This application on your phone will "let you see everything around you, anytime and anyplace across all major social networks" is how the CEO of Banjo stated it in laptopmag.com. It will constantly keep you updated with what is surrounding you, it uses little battery life and will keep you connected to all forms of social media in one place.
