For this page my plan is to have a few sections on the major information of Kevin Systrom (founder of Instagram) I have a very breif outline of the categories and information posted currently. I plan to add photos and hopefully an interview (video) of Kevin.
Background:
Kevin grew up in Massachusetts to two successful and accomplished parents. He was introduced to computer programing at a young age and loved playing video games. He even figured out how to prank friends messenger accounts to make it appear like they had been hacked. He eventually graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Management science and engineering. While in college during one of his semesters he studied abroad in Italy studying photography.
Career:
Systrom worked for Google..on projects like Google Calendar, Gmail, Spreadsheets, etc. He was there as a product marketer, but then left when he wasn't promoted to a Product manager program. From there he went to a company called, Nextstop. This company was eventually acquired by Facebook. It was here that Kevin thought of creating a platform that would let you do location check ins and play social games. He made a prototype of this idea and named it Burbn. The idea changed slightly when he was on a vacation with his girlfriend and she didn't want to post a photograph because of the bad quality of the photo. Systrom's solution to the problem was to use filters to make the photos look better. Eventually he quit his job to see where this could go. After trial and error and having too many components to the app, he and his partner decided to simplify the idea and just focus on photo sharing.

In 2010 Instagram, the photo and video sharing social media platform, was founded by Kevin Systrom and Kevin Krieger.
Instagram were meshed by the words telegram and instant camera. Two years after it's launch Instagram was sold to Facebook for $1 billion dollars. Systrom has stated that his is an advantage for his company because they get to work with "the best management team in the tech industry". Instagram is currently the 3rd most used social media platform in the world.
