Jeffrey Preston Bezos is a technology and retail enterpreneur, investor and philanthropist with a net woth of $116 billion . He graduated from Princeton university as an electrical engineer and computer scientist.
He is the founder and Chief executive officer of Amazon.com. Bezos is often referred to as the pioneer of e-commerce because he ventured into the internet market by opening an online bookstore.
Personal life
He met MacKenzie Tuttle while he was working at D.E. Shaw & Co. while she worked there as well in 1992. They got married in 1993 and moved from New York to Seattle in 1994 after Bezos realized there was an increase and demand in internet use in the country. They currently have four children together. In 2016, he starred as a Starfleet official in Star Trek Beyond.

After graduating from Princeton, he worked on Wall Street. Then he went to Fitel, Banker's Trust and a hedge fund D.E. Shaw & Co. before finally quitting. He worked in international trade and the internet-enabled business sector.

After quitting Wall Street in 1994, he moved to Seattle with his wife to open up his online store in his then garage. Equipped with three Sun microstations, together with a few employees developed a test site and in 1995 Amazon.com was opened to the world. It went public in 1997 and other retailers started opening up their own sites to rival Amazon. He decided to brooden his scope to CDs and videos in 1998. Through retail partnerships, Bezos added clothes, toys ,electronics and a few others to his virtual shop.
Amazon.com launched Amazon Instant Video in 2006 and in 2007 the hand held ebook reader, Kindle was released. For avid readers this was a must have because it enabled the users to buy, download, store and read their books at any place and time. In short it was a virtual and mobile library.The Kindle Fire was unveiled in 2011 and the following year the Kindle Fire HD was released gunnering him a spot in the tablet marketplace. The Amazon first generation Echo hit the market in November, 2014 but it was first available to only Prime members then in 2015 it was open to anyone who wanted to purchase an intelligent non payable personal assistant.
Blue origin
This is a privately funded company aerospace manufacturer and spaceflights services founded in September 2000. It was mainly founded because of Bezos' childhood fascination of space travel. The company is working towards providing space access to humans privately at low costs. It became public in 2003 only when Bezos started purchasing take off land in Texas. It now has a facility in Culberson County , Texas. Engineers and all other personel involved were silently working on Blue Origin's space equipment and in March 2005 they finally had a space vehicle names Charon. In total, Blue Origin has had 14 test flights with 7 successful attempts of which 5 the reused booster landed without fail. Blue's space vehicle is expected to carry a maximum of 6 passengers and it will propel them into space so that they can experince weightlessness.
