Overview

Metal Gear Solid is a video game series including nine of the thirty-six Metal Gear games, re-releases, remakes, and collections. The company Konami, assisted by the creator and writer, Hideo Kojima, created the series in 1987 with the first series installation, Metal Gear. The series has primarily followed a Protagonist(s) under the code name "Snake" and said protagonist goes under a vast array of espionage missions commonly centered around the events of The Cold War and the aftermath of the end of the Soviet Union. This series incorporates realistic timelines, real characters, real settings, as well as throwing a twist of Sci-Fi elements that are nonexistent even in today's technological developments.
